Ebay forces sellers to Pay Pal
In the current climate of Large Multi National Organisations making their own rules, we suggest that the public may need to pay attention to what are potential hazards. One of the overt and known considerations that destroy society are Monopolies. This is why Anti-Trust Law was enacted in the US many years ago, and remains in force to this day. Ebay are now effectively breaching anti-trust laws by insisting that their own financial agency Pay Pal is the sole conduit for on line payment for goods. They are effectively "owning" the right to arrange the finance on their own open auction listing. This is potentially against the Trade Practice Act of Australia. By not providing alternative on-line payment systems that are secure Ebay are in breach of Anti-Trust Laws in the States as well. A Seller must use PayPal, receive cash, or go elsewhere. The problem is, there is no "elsewhere" to go in real terms. The real problem is that there ARE alternatives that are also safe and secure. Companies such as www.paymate.com.au generally are considered to offer a better service than PayPal, and they certainly resolve disputes more easily and effectively. However, they are now banned from the world auction market as provided by Ebay. Ebay offer an amazing service. You can now auction anything to anyone anywhere in the entire world for what amounts to peanuts in cost. Ebay is a fantastic tool, and can be used to help millions of people all over the world attain greater financial freedom. But here there is a serious concern. If you live in Africa, Morocco or any number of countries in the world then PayPal is not available to you ... You are out of the loop. Certainly, scammers generally come from these countries, and it is good to lessen their ability to steal from consumers, but there are other options available. Instead of offering a QUALIFICATION service to help prevent Scammers getting into the system, Ebay are simply AXING potential problem areas. What is more, they are doing so to the detriment of other service providers without offering remedy. Ebay are not alone in this. Amazon are doing the same thing in a different way. They have cancelled the right for any POD (Print on Demand) publisher to sell through their portal. They insist people must not only get books printed through their OWN portal (Book Surge / Create Space) unless they put a Minimum Five Books into stock under their very expensive "Amazon Advantage" program. Many authors all over the world make a living from POD publications, and in many cases Amazon is the ONLY way their books will see the light of day. Unless you are willing to pay the exorbitant BookSurge costs, you are OUT of Amazon. On a Side Note: WHat this author also finds most disturbing is evidence of Clandestine alterations to food additives in the States. Currently secret "Taste enhancers" are being added without FDA approval or with any notification on the packaging of their inclusion. See: www.senomyx.com/collaborations This is a potentially serious health risk ... But at least you get to choose the option of fresh fruit and vegetables in the US. Ebay are offering no alternatives to Pay Pal, obviously forcing people to send money for payment through bank accounts in such a way that no longer involves Ebay in the legal argument between buyer and seller. The Net Summary: (Pun intended) When Large Corporations are allowed to specifically reduce sellers and buyers open market options with no alternative, what happens next? It is the basis and rational for all Anti-Trust Laws, and the conclusion has been known for a long time: Competition is diminished, and without competition, costs rise.
